Stepping into the new year

This week’s topic for reflection is stepping into a new year. It’s time to let go of the year 2025 and welcome  2026. Let’s reassess where we have been, where we are and where we hope to be. For me it’s a time of appreciating the life I’ve had which has been wonderful and rich. I’ve done amazing things and had the pleasure of knowing people that have given me so much. I have been extraordinarily blessed. Even almost dying from a malfunctioning gallbladder was and continues to be a source of deep and intriguing practice. My main focus now is on relaxing more, slowing down and settling into living with an aging body. I look forward to going on from here, learning and appreciating life more including routine maintenance tasks. I aspire to being kind and thoughtful to all things and people.

So what would you say about your life; where you have been and come from, where you are now and where are you headed? Please take your time with this assessment. It makes a difference where we put our attention and effort. What is important to you? What do you appreciate the most and what do you want to bring forth in yourself and the world?

There has been plenty of change this past year with more likely to come. Thank you everyone for sharing together this past year. I would like to end this year and blog with the expression, We may not have it all together but together we have it all.

Please join us for morning Zoom zazen from 7:00 to 7:30 Tuesday and Thursday, and Sunday morning Zoom zazen and discussion of the topic for reflection blog from 8:00 to 9:00 Pacific Time. Here’s the Zoom link:
