This weeks' topic for reflection is to continue with last weeks' topic and blog, anxiety. This is one possible response to anxiety. After you're familar with the feeling of anxiety please offer yourself love and kindness. Be still and patient as if you're holding yourself as a parent would hold a troubled child. Try telling yourself words of reassurance like, "I'm here with you. It's okay now." Be open and spacious to the feeling . Allow the feeling to be how it is. This feeling is all a part of life. Offer a small gentle smile.
As I go about my day I notice I'm carrying a slight anxiety. It's as if danger might be near so I need to be ready. I might be discovered and seen in a bad way. I'm not trusting. This is not always true but often it is. As I get older physically and mentally I worry I'm losing it. I actually am losing it. So I try to be kind and lighten up and remember this is a natural process of aging. After all my ability to be kind has not lessened.
How do you work with anxiety, your own and others?
